What is your screening process?
Each dog receives a screening prior to being accepted into Dog Day Care. This is done by a pet professional trained in animal behavior. The screening takes place in 3 parts.
- Phone consultation: Our guest services coordinator will ask key questions to learn more about your dog’s behavior and temperament. You will be asked to fill out a detailed admission questionnaire.
- A consultation with one of our pack leaders who is trained in animal behavior. Your dog will be tested in a playgroup environment.
- Plan to leave your dog at Doggie Day Care to begin the transition process.
Can I come and see the facility?
Yes, but an appointment must be scheduled prior to your visit. Due to insurance regulations and the comfort and safety of our guests the facility may be viewed through our glass viewing windows. If you would like to visit within the facility a tour may be scheduled after-hours. Our number one concern is creating a welcoming environment for our guests with limited interruptions. Because of our policy to never leave our dogs unattended we do again ask that you call to schedule an appointment prior to your visit. Remember you can see everything via our WEBCAMS during our hours of operation 6:30AM – 6:30PM.
What is a typical day at Oh My Dog Daycare like?
Doors open. As our guests arrive they are greeted by their Play Group Pack Leader (Human) who takes them out to our “Fire Hydrant Terrace” for potty time. After they are done they go to their playgroup and start playing! The morning is spent running, chasing and playing tug-o-war or keep-away with their friends. Our sparkling, clean playrooms are filled with innovative & safe dog toys from Planet Dog along with cuddly fleece blankets and Pet Cots. There is a “pack leader” (human) present at all times during their visit. Mid–day many of our guests will have their lunch or decide to take a snooze. We do not use crates — naptime is voluntary but encouraged by soft ambient music and aromatherapy. On certain afternoons our guests will participate in art projects, agility games or dog movie time on our 60" screen TV. When Mom or dad arrives to pick up their dog they will receive a report card (daily) detailing the activities their dog participated in. Our goal is for our guests to have a stimulating, fun day which makes for a tired and happy dog.
Where does my dog go to the bathroom? How often is my dog taken outside?
We have a 1000 sq ft outdoor fenced terrace that is directly connected to our facility and surrounded by a 6-foot stockade fence. There is a big awning in case of rain for those guests who don’t like to get wet. Our outdoor area is sanitized every two hours. Our guests go outside every 30 minutes Every time a dog goes potty outside we reward them by marking the behavior with praise. On warm days we keep our doors open so the dogs may wander in and out if they please.
If my dog comes for daycare, can you feed him during the day? Do you have fresh water?
Yes, please bring your dogs food in a plastic bag labeled with their first name and your last name. We will serve their meal in a sanitized dish. Because many of our guests have food allergies each meal is served in a fresh dish. During their feeding our guests are separated to prevent any stress or food sharing. Purified water is always available and changed every 30 minutes. Our bowls & buckets are sanitized every hour. We do monitor each guests drinking patterns to avoid any potential health issues.
If I purchase a daycare package, do I still need to make reservations?
Yes, to ensure that we have space available, you will still need to call to make reservations even if your dog has a daycare package. If for any reason you need to cancel the day of your reservation please notify us by 9AM, otherwise there is a $10 fee.
What are your health requirements including vaccinations?
All dogs must be either spayed or neutered (by 8 months) and must be up-to-date on the following vaccinations. All dogs are checked for disease / illness upon arrival each day.
- Rabies

What is the staff to dog ratio? What type of credentials does the staff have?
Our ratio is 1 person to every 8 dogs. It is our company policy at NO time is any dog left alone or unattended. Our low ratio allows us to closely monitor your dog’s needs and keep watch for any potential health or behavior problems. Everyone on our staff is a passionate dog lover; we have gone a step further by combining their passion with technical & behavioral knowledge.
